King County Sheriff's Office presence at FIFA 2026
KCSO Youtube and video coverage of Seattle during 2026 World Cup Seattle.
During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the King County Sheriff’s Office supported Seattle and the surrounding region as thousands of visitors arrived for matches and related events. This effort brought together all of our specialty units — including Air Support, Bomb Disposal Unit, Marine Unit, Crisis Negotiations, K‑9 Teams, TAC‑30, the Metro and Sound Bicycle Emphasis and Enforcement Squads, Sound Transit’s Joint Transit Anti‑Terrorist Team, Language access and interpretation services, and the Therapeutic Response Unit. Several newly created teams also stepped in to meet the unique demands of hosting an international event of this scale - including the Drone and Dialogue Teams.
Working in coordination with local, regional, and federal partners, these teams helped ensure a safe, smooth experience for residents, visitors, and event staff. At the same time, we continued delivering everyday public safety services throughout King County — from patrol and emergency response to technical and logistical support.
Our role during the World Cup was to support the event, keep people safe, and maintain reliable service across the county as our region took the global stage.
