911 Communications Specialist
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a customer service role requiring solid people skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to quickly shift from task to task.
- Ability to control personal emotional responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Flexible and adaptable in changing situations.
- Ability to follow moderately complex oral and written instructions.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to act quickly in accordance with established policy and procedures while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing using English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
911 Dispatcher
- Lateral candidates must possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a fully qualified call receiver or dispatcher from a communications center:
- Predominantly centered on law enforcement
- A minimum of 250,000 incoming 9-1-1 calls annually
- Less than a two-year break in service.
