Snoqualmie Fish, Farm & Flood

Community-driven effort to resolve conflicting priorities for salmon restoration, developing the farm economy and reducing risk of flood damage in the Snoqualmie Valley.

King County goals include protecting and improving farmland, helping struggling salmon and their habitats, and lowering flood risks to people and buildings. But it can be tough to balance all of these important goals in an area where many people share the land.

The 2012 King County Comprehensive Plan asked the Department of Natural Resources and Parks to start a community-driven effort to figure out how to move forward with reaching the goals of these sometimes-conflicting priorities. In 2017, the Fish, Farm and Flood (FFF) Advisory Committee sent a list of recommended actions to the County Executive and Council. The FFF Implementation Oversight Committee (IOC) was then formed to make sure these actions were carried out in a balanced way.
