About Chief Kelly Park

Chief Kelly Park’s law enforcement career has spanned more than two decades. She joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and rose through the ranks in a variety of roles and across many departments. After being promoted to Chief of Patrol Operations in 2024, she was named the Chief of the Criminal Investigations Division at the start of 2026.

Chief Park’s career began in Shoreline as a patrol deputy. She then became the first Woodinville School Resource officer after the birth of her first child. Her career opportunities grew. She worked as a detective, then a Sergeant who oversaw the King County Courthouse Court Protection Unit, worked in the Advanced Training Unit, and eventually as an Internal Investigations Unit Detective Sergeant. As a Captain, she served in the Southwest precinct, Sound Transit, an Internal Investigations Unit Commander and was ultimately named the Chief of Shoreline Police in 2022. 

Her long career also includes time as a Field Training Officer, a Defensive Tactics Instructor, and an EVOC instructor.  She managed the Active Bystander for Law Enforcement program and the Justice Based Policing programs. She is currently the Co-Executive Chair for the Sheriff’s Office Wellness program and is an active member of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs Executive Support Team for the state of Washington.

Chief Park believes in Servant Leadership and felt the best way to honor her true calling to service was in law enforcement. 

Her proudest accomplishments are her two children; her son is a senior at Inglemoor High School and her daughter is a sophomore at the University of Washington, also Chief Park’s alma mater.
