King County Regional Office of Gun Violence Prevention
Mission: Taking a public health approach, the Regional Office of Gun Violence Prevention (ROGVP) collaborates with community and across systems to deliver community-centered services to reduce gun violence in King County.

Functions
To advance holistic public safety, provide care and resources, and promote community healing, the Regional Office of Gun Violence Prevention’s work is organized around four core strategies:

Coordination
Coordination to align community and systems and maximize resources through collaboration.

Prevention
Prevention to raise awareness of services and resources, promote harm reduction strategies, and engage King County residents and directly impacted communities to identify needs and collaboratively implement solutions.

Intervention
Intervention that provides intensive services and supports for individuals directly impacted by gun violence and firearm injury.

Stabilization and restoration
Stabilization and restoration by coordinating supports for individuals, residents, schools, businesses and communities recovering after incidents of gun violence.
Regional Gun Violence Prevention Community Resource Guide
While we cannot eliminate gun violence overnight, we can decrease risk and increase safety by connecting to community supports and services that address the physical, emotional, and economic impacts of gun violence.
Everyone in King County deserves to live in communities that are hopeful, safe, healthy, and thriving.

Current initiatives
Regional Peacekeepers Collective
The Regional Peacekeepers Collective (RPKC) is a Community Violence Intervention (CVI) initiative that provides focused services to individuals ages 12–24 at highest near-term risk of involvement in gun violence.
RPKC Services:
- Violence interruption and critical incident response
- Street outreach
- Intensive engagement and cognitive behavioral interventions
- School safety and safe passage
- Community safety operations at vigils, funerals, memorials, public events.
RPKC service areas include Burien, Kent, Federal Way, Renton and the Skyway and White Center areas of unincorporated King County.
Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP)
Harborview Medical Center's Violence Intervention and Prevention Program (VIPP) provides a suite of comprehensive services for all victims of firearm injury and their families.
Hospital-based Intervention Services:
- Extensive bedside support for all victims of firearm injury.
- Immediate basic needs assistance for patients and families.
- Referral to RPKC for eligible individuals to ensure continuity from hospital to community services.
- Bereavement and trauma support including counseling referrals and coordination with victim assistance for funeral cost support.
