Frequently Asked Questions
The Permit Center will be the new online services portal for permits and plan review applications for food businesses, water recreation facilities, pet businesses, solid and medical waste facilities, plumbing and gas piping, on-site sewage systems, and schools. You will also be able to use the portal to submit complaints or inquiries to our staff about unsafe food handling, rodents, or other environmental conditions.
The Permit Center will replace the current Environmental Health online services portal.
We are transitioning because the Permit Center will provide an improved customer experience with more online features than our current, outdated software. Our current system is also no longer supported by the vendor.
Business owners and community members will use the Permit Center for new permits, permit renewals, and plan reviews for:
- Food businesses
- Water recreation facilities
- Pet businesses
- Solid waste facilities and solid and biomedical waste transporters
- Plumbing and gas piping
- On-site sewage systems
- Schools
Community members can also use the Permit Center to submit complaints or inquiries about rodents and other environmental conditions.
The Permit Center will launch this September (2025). We will provide updated information about the timing and what to expect on this webpage.
Until the new system launches, customers should continue to use the Environmental Health online services portal.
