Designated C&D Facilities
Information about designated construction and demolition (C&D) facilities. These facilities accept mixed recyclable C&D or non-recyclable C&D waste from jobsites in King County’s service area.
C&D landfill waste fee increasing Jan. 1, 2025
The King County C&D landfill waste fee is increasing to $13/ton (effective January 1, 2025). The fee applies to all C&D waste taken to C&D Waste Transfer Facilities and Intermodal Yards. At C&D material recovery facilities the fee is only imposed on the tons of waste disposed at a landfill, and does not apply to any materials recycled by the facility.
C&D regulations
County code requires that construction and demolition (C&D) materials from jobsites within King County (excludes Seattle) must be sent to a designated facility. This regulation applies to loads of mixed C&D recycling or C&D waste.
You can bring small loads of C&D to King County’s transfer stations under certain conditions. Visit our C&D materials page for more information.
