Conservation Futures Funds
Conservation Futures grants can fund the purchase of open space lands, natural areas, urban green spaces, passive parks, regional trails, farms, and forests. Governmental agencies and qualified nature conservancy or historic preservation non-profits are eligible to apply. Applications generally open in January, with award recommendations made summer. Flood Reduction Grants
The King County Flood Control District provides grants for medium and small local flood reduction projects that address existing or potential flooding. Eligible applicants include HOAs, schools, non-profits, tribes, cities and towns, tribes, and King County agencies. Applications are generally due in late spring. Get Active Stay Active
Get Active Stay Active is a two-year grant awarded by Councilmember Balducci’s office for organizations who provide youth and amateur sports and fitness programs. Local government agencies and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in King County Council District 6 are eligible to apply. Funding can be used for program implementation costs, such as coaching or space rentals, camp and program fee scholarships, athletic and fitness equipment, or capital projects. Van Donation Program
The King County Council van donation program allows councilmembers to donate retired (but still useable) vanpool vans to eligible nonprofits and local governments to help serve seniors, people with disabilities, young people, and low-income people. Services must be provided to eligible individuals without regard to their affiliation with any organization and vans must be used to transport eligible people, not items, equipment, or staff. WaterWorks Grant Program
WaterWorks funding is available for projects that improve water quality in the service area of King County’s regional wastewater system. Non-profits, schools and educational institutions, cities, counties, tribes, and special purpose districts are eligible to apply. Applications generally open in January, with award recommendations made in the fall. Youth and Amateur Sports Grants
Youth and Amateur Sports grants support fit and healthy communities by investing in programs and capital projects that increase access to physical activity and sports programs. Eligible uses include program scholarships, facility fees, equipment and uniforms, capital project management, construction materials, and more. Funding is available to non-profit organizations, public schools and districts, public agencies, and tribes and tribal organizations. Applications generally open in January and funding decisions are usually made in the spring. King County Parks offers details on the application process, including program guidelines and deadlines.
