Where to get vaccinated in King County

• Your child’s healthcare provider: Make an appointment with your child’s provider. Check with your healthcare provider You can use this opportunity to talk about any other health concerns, get a general wellness check, or complete a sports physical. Some healthcare providers offer vaccination-only visits if you’re pressed for time or have no other healthcare needs. 
• Find a CVP provider near you: In Washington state, all children ages 0 to 18 can receive all routinely recommended vaccines at no cost from a healthcare provider that participates in the Childhood Vaccine Program (CVP). You may be charged an administration fee (a charge for delivering the vaccine), but you don’t have to pay if you can’t afford it. There are about 300 CVP providers in King County, and most require that a child enrolls as a patient in order to get services.
• School Based Health Centers (SBHCs): If your child lives in a district with an SBHC, they can access vaccinations and other healthcare services during operating hours. Call ahead to find out about the best time and way to come to the clinic.
• Pharmacies: Most pharmacies only vaccinate children ages 3 and older. Most pharmacies accept insurance or charge an out-of-pocket fee. Flu shots usually cost $30 to $50 out of pocket, and the cost for other vaccines varies. Check with your local pharmacy to make sure they can vaccinate your child and to ask about any costs.
• Mobile clinics: For a list of no-cost vaccine clinics and to see if your family is eligible, click on “Upcoming vaccine clinics” at the top of this page. The page is regularly updated as new clinics are added.
• In-home COVID-19 vaccination: Available for people 6 months of age and older who are eligible for a vaccine AND have an injury, developmental disability, medical condition, or mental health condition that makes it difficult to leave the home.

• Check with your healthcare provider or local pharmacy. Most insurance plans cover the flu, COVID, and RSV vaccines, including Medicaid (Apple Health) and Medicare Part D. Check with your insurance provider for coverage details. If you don’t have insurance, a flu shot usually costs $30 to $50 for the regular dose vaccine. Flu shots for seniors usually cost $60 to $80. 
• Find vaccinations for uninsured adults, ages 19+

In Washington state, some providers offer certain vaccines at no cost to uninsured and underinsured adults through the Adult Vaccine Program (AVP). Some AVP providers offer walk-in vaccinations, like Othello Station Pharmacy and Sea Mar Community Health Centers. Other providers may require that you register as a patient and make an appointment before getting vaccinated.

• Care-a-Van Clinics: Offering COVID and flu vaccine for all ages (when available), routinely recommended vaccines for children ages 0-18, as well as other healthcare services. All services are provided at no cost with one exception. Adults with health insurance indicating that services are out-of-network may be billed. Find more information on Care-a-Van Clinics.

Different locations have different requirements. You may need to bring these items:

• Identification with date of birth. This can be a state, tribe, or federal-issued ID. A billing or bank statement with your name and address can usually be used instead.
• Health insurance card. Let your provider know if you do not have insurance.
• Wear short sleeves or loose-fitting sleeves that are easy to roll up so that you can get vaccinated in your upper arm.
• Authorized adult consent: if you are younger than age 18, you may need consent from an authorized adult to get vaccinated. You can consent for yourself if you are emancipated, married to an adult, or the vaccine site determines you are a mature minor. Not all vaccine sites are able to make mature minor decisions. If an authorized adult does not plan to attend the vaccine appointment with you, check with your vaccine provider about requirements for showing proof of authorized adult consent or legal emancipation.

• Costco: Appointment needed – must be scheduled by phone. Bring a prescription from your doctor or get a travel consultation from Costco for $40.
• Katterman's Pharmacy: Walk-ins accepted. No prescription needed.
• Othello Station Pharmacy: Walk-ins accepted. No prescription needed.
• Passport Health: Appointment needed. Consultation needed ($99 fee). No prescription needed.
• UW Travel Medicine Clinic: Appointment needed. Consultation needed ($117 to $333 fee, depending on length of visit). No prescription needed.
