Starting Sept. 14, King County Metro will increase bus service, including on evenings and weekends. Metro’s new RapidRide G Line will serve Madison Valley, Capitol Hill, the Central District, First Hill and downtown Seattle. There will be additional bus connections to Sound Transit’s Link 1 Line northward extension to Lynnwood. Also, new Metro Flex on-demand service launches in the Northshore area.

Route revisions

Choose a route number to learn about the changes that will begin on September 14, 2024. Some routes with small changes to trip times are not included on this page.

New routes

Route 61 is a new east-to-west route that replaces part of the deleted Route 20. Route 61 will serve the stops Route 20 served between Lake City and Wallingford Ave N & N 85th St, then continue west on N 85th St towards Greenwood.

Route 333 is a new route that will provide service between Mountlake Terrace Station and Shoreline South/148th Station. Route 333 will serve Ballinger Terrace, North City, Shorewood, and Shoreline Community College.

The route will operate on a temporary reroute when it opens due to construction on NE 145th St, this is expected to last until the end of October 2024.

Route 365 is a new route that provides service between Northgate Station and Shoreline North/185th Station. Route 365 will serve North Seattle College, Northwest Hospital, Haller Lake, Ingraham, Shoreline South/148th Station and Ridgecrest.

Route 365 will be on a temporary reroute when it starts due to construction on NE 145th St expected to last until the end of October 2024. During that time, Route 365 will not serve stops on NE 145th St between Shoreline South 148th Station and Meridian Ave N, it will operate on NE 155th St between 5th Ave NE and Meridian Ave N.

The RapidRide G Line is a new route that will travel on Madison Street, connecting Madison Valley, Capitol Hill, the Central District and First Hill to downtown Seattle.

A new Metro Flex on-demand neighborhood transit service launches in the Northshore area on Monday, September 16. Service will operate weekdays 7 am to 7 pm for riders in parts of Brier, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park, Mountlake Terrace and Shoreline, and Mountlake Terrace Station.

Adjusted routes

Route 3 will no longer serve Queen Anne. Instead, Route 3 will serve the Summit neighborhood and serve stops along Pike St, Pine St, Bellevue Ave and Summit Ave E. This change helps replace the service lost from Route 47 being deleted permanently.

Trips will be added to Route 4 to replace Route 3 trips that no longer serve Queen Anne, these new trips are funded by the Seattle Transit Measure.

Route 10 will no longer travel on E Olive Way and E John St. Instead, Route 10 will travel along 15th Ave E and E Pine St.

Trip times will be adjusted to better match rider demand.

Route 11 will no longer travel on E Pine St and a portion of E Madison St. Instead, Route 11 travel on E Olive Way, E Thomas St, E John St, Pine St, Bellevue Ave and Pike St.

Trips will be added on the weekends to meet rider demand, these added trips are funded by the Seattle Transit Measure.

On weekdays, trip times will be adjusted to better match rider demand.

Route 12 will no longer travel on a portion of Madison St. Instead, Route 12 will travel on E Pine St, Pine St, Bellevue Ave and Pike St.

On Saturday and Sunday, trips will be added to achieve a trip every 20 minutes, the added trips are funded by the Seattle Transit Measure.

Route 28 will no longer go to the Broadview neighborhood. Instead, Route 28 will start at 8th Ave NW & NW 97th St and end at NW 100th Pl & 7th Ave NW.

Trips will be added to Route 60 to better match rider demand, the added trips are funded by the Seattle Transit Measure.

  • On weekdays, 13 trips will be added between 6 am to 7 pm, and 2 trips between 10 pm to 12 am
  • On Saturday, 26 trips will be added between 6 am to 7 pm
  • On Sunday, 27 trips will be added between 6 am to 7 pm

Route 65 will no longer start and end at NE 143rd St & 17th Ave NE.

Instead, Route 65 will continue to Shoreline South/148th Station, providing connections to other bus routes and the Link 1 Line.

Route 101 will no longer travel on Pike St or Union St. The route will serve three new northbound stops and five new southbound stops. 

Board or exit Route 101 at one of the following stops:

  • Northbound (to downtown Seattle)
    4th Ave & Pike St, Olive Way & 6th Ave, and Howell St & 9th Ave
  • Southbound (to Renton)
    Stewart St & Yale Ave, Stewart St & 9th Ave, Steward St & 7th Ave, Stewart St & 4th Ave, and 2nd Ave & Pike St

Route 102 will no longer travel on Pike St or Union St. The route will serve three new northbound stops and five new southbound stops.

Route 150 will no longer travel on Pike St or Union St. The route will serve three new northbound stops and five new southbound stops.

    4th Ave & Pike St, Olive Way & 6th Ave, and Howell St & 9th Ave
  • Southbound (to Kent)
    Stewart St & Yale Ave, Stewart St & 9th Ave, Steward St & 7th Ave, Stewart St & 4th Ave, and 2nd Ave & Pike St

Route 303 will be changed to serve South Lake Union by using the Mercer Street interchange, and continue to First Hill using Boren Ave.

Route 303 will add 1 additional trip in the AM peak.

Route 322 will have two changes.

  1. Routing changed to serve Northgate Station and not serve Roosevelt Station.
  2. Routing changed to serve South Lake Union by using Mercer St interchange via Fairview Ave N and serving First Hill using Boren Ave.

Route 331 will no longer serve the stops on between 15th Ave NE and 19th Ave NE on Ballinger Way NE due to a change to the routing to serve the Mountlake Terrace Station.

Route 345 will no longer go to Shoreline Community College and will not serve stops Dayton Ave N and N Innis Arden Way. Instead, Route 345 will go to Shoreline South/148th Station using Westminster and NE 155th St.

Route 346 will travel between Aurora Village and Shoreline South/148th Station via Meridian Ave N, N 155th St and 5th Ave NE. Route 346 will no longer go to Northgate Station, it will not serve the stops on Meridian Ave N, south of N 155th St.

  • See new Route 365 for service on Meridian Ave N, south of N 145th St.
  • See Routes 345 and 365 for service between North 130th St and Northgate Station.

Route 348 will have three changes.

  1. Route 348 will serve the Shoreline North/185th Station.
  2. Route 348 will use NE 180th St instead of NE 175th St.
  3. Route 348 will have some trips start and end at 8th Ave NW, the rest of the trips will start and end at Richmond Beach.

Deleted or replaced routes

Many deleted routes have service replaced by new or revised routes listed above. Information about replacement service is included for each route.

Route 16 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available to and from downtown Seattle using Route 5.

Route 20 will be permanently deleted.

Routes 44, 45, 61 and 62 can be used as an alternative.

  • In the U-District, use Route 44.
  • Between NE 45th St and Green Lake, use Route 62.
  • Between U-District and N 85th St, use Route 45.
  • Between N 85th St & Lake City, use Route 61 (new route).

Route 47 will be permanently deleted from service. The routing of Route 3 has been changed to serve the Summit neighborhood to replace the lost service.

Route 64 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using Route 62 or Route 65.

  • Between downtown Seattle and Sand Point, use Route 62.
  • Between NE 65th St and NE 145th St, use Route 65.

Route 73 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using routes 45, 67 and 348.

  • Between Northgate and U-District, use Route 67.
  • Between Roosevelt and U-District, use Route 45.
  • Between NE 145th & NE 117th St, use Route 348.

Route 301 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using routes 303, 333, 348, RapidRide E Line, CT Route 130, CT Swift Blue Line and Link 1 Line.

Route 302 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using routes 303, 322, 331, 348 and Link 1 Line.

  • Between Richmond Beach, Aurora Village Transit Center, and Mountlake Terrace Station, use Route 331.
  • Between Aurora Village Transit Center and First Hill, use Route 303.
  • Between Northgate and First Hill, use either Route 303 or Route 322.
  • Between Richmond Beach, Aurora Ave N at N 185th St, and downtown Seattle, use Route 348 and Link 1 Line via the Shoreline North/185th Station.
  • Between Northgate and downtown Seattle, use Link 1 Line.

Route 304 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using Routes 331, 333, 348 and Link 1 Line.

  • Between Shoreline Community College and Northgate, use Route 333 (new route) and transfer to and from Link 1 Line.
  • Between Dayton Ave N and Northgate, walk or use Route 331 to transfer to newly created Route 333 or 348 and transfer to Link 1 Line.
  • Between N 185th St and Northgate, use Route 348 for direct connection or transfer to and from Link 1 Line at Shoreline North/185th Station.

Route 320 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using routes 61, 322, ST522 and Link 1 Line.

  • Between Kenmore Park & Ride and South Lake Union, use Route 322 (peak hours route).
  • Between Kenmore Park & Ride and Roosevelt Station, use Route ST522.
  • Between Northgate Station and South Lake Union, use Link 1 Line and Routes 40, 62, 70, 303, 322 or the RapidRide C Line.
  • Between NE 130th St and Northgate Station (along Lake City Way NE and NE Northgate Way), use Route 61 (new route).

Route 330 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using routes 65, 372, 333 and 345.

  • Between NE 155th St (in Shoreline) and NE 125th St (in Lake City), use Route 65.
  • Along Lake City Way NE between NE 145th St and NE 125th St, use Route 372.
  • Between Shoreline Community College and Dayton Ave N, use Route 333.
  • Between Aurora Ave N and 5th Ave NE, use Route 345.

Route 347 will be permanently deleted.

Alternative service is available using routes 333, 348, 365 and Link 1 Line.

  • Between Mountlake Terrace Station and NE 175th St, use Route 333 (new route).
  • Between NE 180th St and Northgate Transit Center, use Route 348.
  • Between NE 175th St and Northgate Transit Center, use Route 365 (new route).
  • Between Mountlake Terrace Station and Northgate Transit Center, use Link 1 Line.

Holiday Service

King County Metro

Metro will operate a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27; Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Sound Transit

Sound Transit bus routes 522, 541, 542, 544, 545, 550, 554, 555, 556 and 566 operated by Metro, will operate a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27; Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, 2024.

The 1 Line and 2 Line will also operate a Sunday schedule Memorial Day and Independence Day.

Sounder commuter rail will not operate on Memorial Day or Independence Day.
