About the PHRC
The Public Health Reserve Corps (PHRC) bridges gaps in access to care through regular clinics, and before and during emergencies when needed, by delivering compassionate care, ensuring communities in King County have access to essential health services. We promote individual, family, and community preparedness through commitment of our diverse volunteers and public health leaders.
The PHRC's four goals are to engage medical providers to augment the region's emergency response capabilities; rapidly mobilize resources to address the health consequences of disasters, offer enriching service opportunities for members, and deliver top quality compassionate care to all residents of King County.
The PHRC prepares volunteers to respond to earthquakes, disease outbreaks, severe weather, and mass fatality incidents. Some emergency responses may require volunteers to be immunized against certain diseases.
