About CACLEO
The committee offers input on law enforcement policies and procedures. It advises the Sheriff's Office and Council on equity and social justice in policing. It also provides public resources on alleged police misconduct and does outreach to communities served by the Sheriff's Office.
The committee includes up to 11 members who represent the diversity of the Sheriff's Office service area.
The County Executive appoints members of the CACLEO. They're subject to Council confirmation. Committee members serve 3-year terms. Reappointments are for one additional term.
County Code 2.36.050 covers the provisions of CACLEO.
Meetings
The committee meets via Zoom on the third Thursday of each month from 6 pm to 8 pm. They're generally open to the public. Request current agendas or minutes by emailing oleo@kingcounty.gov.
