King County Elections Certifies the April 2025 Special Election, Calls for Committee Members for August Primary Ballot Measures
MAY 2, 2025
Today, May 2, King County Elections (KCE) certified the April 2025 Special Election. Final results can be found on the Elections website.
Turning our attention to the August Primary, KCE is seeking committee members for several ballot measures.
When a jurisdiction places a measure on the ballot, members of the public are appointed by the jurisdiction to pro and con committees. These committees prepare statements either in favor of or in opposition to the ballot measure. These statements are published in the local voters’ pamphlet, and help voters make informed decisions.
If no committee members are appointed by the jurisdiction, King County Elections can appoint committee members, if any come forward.
The following measures have appointed pro committees, but no one has come forward yet to join a con committee:
- King County, Proposition No. 1
- City of Seattle, Proposition No. 1
- King County Fire Protection District No. 40, Proposition No. 1
- Public Hospital District No. 2, Proposition No. 1
Members of the committees will be responsible for:
- Submitting a pro or con statement, following all guidelines, to King County Elections by 5:00 p.m. on May 13.
- Submitting a rebuttal statement, following all guidelines, to King County Elections by 5:00 p.m. on May 15.
If you want to be a member of one of the committees listed above, please email election.services@kingcounty.gov by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9.
