HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) updates

This page provides the most up-to-date information about recent and sudden changes to the PrEP services in King County. We will continue to update this page as we learn new information to share with our community.

To all Sexual Health Clinic PrEP clients:

The Washington State Department of Health's PrEP Drug Assistance Program (PrEP DAP), a financial assistance program that helps some of you pay for PrEP visits and medications if you do not have insurance or your insurance does not cover the full cost, recently let us know that they are making financial cuts. These cuts may result in some of you receiving bills for PrEP services or having copays when picking up your medications or receiving services here at the Sexual Health Clinic.

Our priority is to make sure you stay on PrEP.

We will be working with each of you individually at your appointments to ensure you get PrEP and all other services at the lowest possible cost. We are still learning about the impacts of this change, but we will continue to provide updates as soon as we have them. If at any time financial strain (or anything else) is keeping you from getting or taking PrEP, please call us at 206-744-3954.

We are committed to helping you stay on PrEP.
