Vining plants
Index for noxious weeds in King County whose stems require support, they tend to climb or creep along the ground.
Vining plants tend to grow up and on taller and more structured plants and objects. They can blanket an area, covering everything else that grows there. Vining plants once established can feel very overwhelming to manage but, like all invasive plants, start on the edges and work your way towards the densest part.
Persistence is key to recovering an area overtaken with a vining weed like English ivy (Hedera helix). With ivy, tree rings are also a valuable technique to saving the trees and helping to minimize seed spread. Read more about this technique on its species page below.
