On Saturday, King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn presented a recognition to Kari and Troy Thomas, owners of the Enumclaw Thunder Dome Car Museum, for their philanthropy on behalf of the Epilepsy Foundation Washington and contributions to epilepsy research and awareness.

 “It’s an honor to recognize Kari and Troy for making it their mission to support the many families across Washington State who are working through the challenges of epilepsy,” said Dunn. “Being a community leader is all about giving back, and I’m proud to see that leadership happening here in Enumclaw and to be able to celebrate the Thunder Dome Car Museum for their generosity.”

 Dunn presented the King County recognition during the Thunder Dome’s 3^rd Anniversary Celebration. In addition to a car show and other activities, the day included a presentation of a $60,000 donation from the Thunder Dome Car Museum to the Epilepsy Foundation of Washington, which was raised through a $20 raffle to win a fully restored Chevy Nova, awarded a Kelso, WA, resident later in the day.

The Thunder Dome Car Museum started as a home for private collectors’ vehicles, and now works to showcase, exhibit, and restores classic cars.

The Epilepsy Foundation raises awareness about and encourages conversation around epilepsies, seizures, and side effects, as well as care, advocacy, research, new therapies, and public health and education.
