Today the Metropolitan King County Council confirmed the reappointment of Federal Way resident Alex Sheehan to the Behavior Health Advisory Board for a 3-year-term expiring on March 31, 2025.“Although mental health issues predate the pandemic, these issues have been exacerbated over the past two years and we have seen a growing number of children and adults seeking help,” said Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer, who represents Federal Way on the King County Council. “Alex’s experience as a probation/parole officer, coupled with his volunteer work for the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), provides him with a unique perspective that is a benefit to the Advisory Board, and I appreciate his willingness to continue his service.”
The King County Behavioral Health Advisory Board is a volunteer citizen board formed to support the Behavioral Health Organization. It reviews services for the King County BHO and provides input and counsel to King County on priorities, policies, budgets and programs for the residents of King County. The Board works to promote the importance of prevention, treatment, recovery and the destigmatization of mental illness and addiction.
