Story

King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn recently completed his first round of community town hall events in 2022. These town halls, hosted in partnership with the Department of Local Services, allow Dunn to connect virtually with residents across unincorporated King County and hear about the issues that matter most to their communities.

“I am grateful to each and every resident of unincorporated District 9 who took the time to connect with me at one of these town hall meetings and provide their perspective on how King County can better serve them,” said Dunn. “Overwhelmingly, I heard that our communities need more investments dedicated to building up our law enforcement and to keeping public spaces safe, clean, and accessible to all. I remain focused on these issues and will continue to work to provide support to our police and homelessness response.”

In the past two weeks, Dunn has hosted five town hall events serving the communities of East Renton, SE King County, Greater Maple Valley/Cedar River, 4 Creeks/Tiger Mountain, and Fairwood. These gatherings became virtual in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, offering a chance for participants to hear directly from King County leaders and officials, ask questions, and provide feedback in a virtual format. The two major issues consistently raised by residents during the town halls included the desire for more law enforcement services and the need for reducing homelessness in parks and other public spaces.
