Lambert to lead Community, Health and Housing Services Committee
Summary
Councilmember Lambert will lead a new committee in 2020, as well as vice chair several others.
Story
Metropolitan King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert was on Wednesday selected to chair the Community, Health and Housing Services Committee. The new committee will be focused on providing critical services to those in need throughout King County.
Lambert will also serve as vice chair on several committees. She will remain the vice chair of the Law and Justice Committee, which is responsible for policies relating to public safety and criminal justice. The adopted 2019-2020 King County Budget includes $1.4 billion for law, justice, & safety funding to protect the residents of King County.
Lambert will also vice chair the Local Services Committee. Under her leadership as chair in 2019, the committee worked directly with the Department of Local Services to serve the more than 250,000 residents of unincorporated King County, making it easier for them to access vital services.
She will also serve again as chair of the Regional Water Quality Committee and as a member on the Committee of the Whole, the Budget and Fiscal Management Committee, the Mobility and Environment Committee, and the Board of Health.
