King County Councilmember Jeanne Kohl-Welles is releasing the following statement concerning the passing of Paul Allen.

Story

Without Paul Allen our region would be a completely different place. There likely would be no Seahawks here, Seattle likely wouldn’t be as much of world-renowned tech hub, and we likely would not have made so many positive strides in brain research.

Paul truly saw our world as a global community. He supported wildlife conservation, boldly responded to the Ebola outbreak and invested in and started programs promoting the arts. The impact he had on our region and the world will be long lasting and I’m honored to have known him and worked closely with him on legislation that kept the Seahawks in Seattle.
