Metropolitan King County Councilmember Larry Gossett's statement on today’s unanimous ruling by the Washington state Supreme Court that Washington’s death penalty is unconstitutional:

“I am very pleased with the ruling outlawing the death penalty due to what often appears to be inherent racial bias!

“This is one example of our justice system taking an objective, holistic view of a severe problem in our nation since its inception. Unfortunately, on a national level we are regressing in our ability to use the same objectivity in achieving the goal of justice for all.”
