The Metropolitan King County Council today unanimously confirmed the appointment of Leanne Guier to the King County Flood Control District Advisory Committee. Leanne serves as the mayor of the city of Pacific, located in King County District 7 and represented by County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer.“Leanne brings strong qualifications to King County’s Flood Control District Advisory Committee,” said von Reichbauer. “I have worked closely with Leanne on flooding issues that affect our region, especially those in south King County. She has a good sense of what needs to get done and how to do it, and her experience will be an asset to the Committee.”
Guier’s appointment is for a term to expire on December 31, 2019.
The King County Flood Control District Advisory Committee is comprised of 15 members and is a distinct governmental entity, separate from that of King County. The role of the Advisory Committee is to review an annual work program and budget for the District, including capital improvement program projects and funding levels, and submit a recommendation to the District by August 31 of each year.
