The Metropolitan King County Council today unanimously confirmed the appointment of James Schunke to the King County WaterWorks Grant Ranking Committee. Schunke serves as the Drinking and Stormwater Manager for the city of Pacific, and resides in the city of Algona, which is within King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division service area and District 7, represented by King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer.“James Schunke brings strong qualifications to King County’s WaterWorks Grant Ranking Committee,” said von Reichbauer. “James has worked in the public sector for the past 28 years and has a good understanding of how government can and should work for its citizens. His background and expertise will be a valuable asset to this Committee.”
The WaterWorks Grant Ranking Committee provides funding for projects that improve water quality in the service area for King County's regional wastewater system. This grant program complements the water quality mission of the Wastewater Treatment Division.
