Washington state Speaker of the House Frank Chopp spoke to South King County community leaders at the December “Good Eggs” breakfast hosted by King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer.
Chopp discussed his passion for working with community groups and reflected on the increase in education funding and the new paid family leave program implemented during the 2018 session of the state legislature. Moving forward, Speaker Chopp identified mental health treatment and workforce preparation as two of his priorities for the upcoming legislative session.
Chopp also answered questions from the audience, and highlighted his commitment to coalition building, commenting on the need to for Republicans, Democrats, business and labor to work together to advance important legislation.
