“Today’s United States Supreme Court decision represents American progress at our best—advancing the cause of justice and providing stability and security to families in every corner of our nation. I’m proud that Washington State helped lead the way and am thankful for the leaders and citizens who worked so hard and for so long to pave the way for this important achievement. Our march toward fairness and equality must continue. We must now harness this passion and momentum to confront sexism, institutional racism, and injustice toward transgendered Americans.”
