Metropolitan King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn joined Enumclaw Mayor Liz Reynolds to this morning sell the first ticket to the 152nd King County Fair.

“The King County Fair has been a mainstay in King County for generations,” said Councilmember Dunn, who represents Enumclaw on the County Council. “The King County Fair is even bigger and better this year. Not only does it provide great entertainment but also serves as a valuable outlet for local youth agricultural programs.”

At 10:00 a.m. Dunn and Mayor Reynolds sold the first ticket to Hadley Bottorff who was waiting in line to enter the fair this morning with her mother.

With its start when Washington was still a territory in 1863, the King County Fair is celebrating its 152nd anniversary this summer. The Fair is fun for all ages and includes 4-H livestock shows and exhibits, live music, rides, fair foods and famous racing pigs among other attractions.

“We stand proudly beside the recently formed Enumclaw Expo and Events Association, a non-profit corporation formed by individuals passionate about the success of the Expo Center,” said Enumclaw Mayor Liz Reynolds. “The King County Fair is the centerpiece of their business model as they work not only to keep alive this great tradition, but take it to a new level of success for 4-H and fairgoers of all ages to enjoy and be proud of. Welcome to Enumclaw, let’s have some fun!”

Earlier this week, Councilmember Dunn joined by County Executive Dow Constantine and Mayor Reynolds as the County presented the fair $50,000 in funding for the next two years to help support the operation of the fair.
