Lambert statement on the retirement of Larry Phillips

Metropolitan King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert released this statement on today’s announcement that King County Council Chair will not seek reelection to the County Council:

“It’s been a pleasure serving with Larry Phillips. I definitely want to keep him busy until his last day on the council as we value his expertise!

“He and I have written budgets together – through both good and hard times financially and worked until late at night. I have many good memories of serving on committees with him – including the Employment, Budget and Land Use Committees.

“He’s been collaborative and bipartisan in his service to the people of King County. His leadership on water issues and climate change has laid a good foundation for the future.

“I’ve learned many things from Larry and he’ll be missed. I hope he has many new adventures in his future.”
