von Reichbauer secures over 2,500 unclaimed glasses for the Auburn Lions Club, benefitting families in need

Metropolitan King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer secured more than 2,500 unclaimed prescription glasses for The Lions Club of Auburn. These unclaimed glasses were left behind on Metro busses in South King County this past year and will be given to help families in need.

The Auburn Lions and von Reichbauer have teamed up to insure that those who cannot afford costly prescription lenses will now have the ability to have a quality pair of eye glasses.

“When I was first elected to the County Council I asked Metro what happened to the unclaimed eye glasses that are often left behind on their buses,” said von Reichbauer. “I was told that the unclaimed glasses were thrown away. Since then I have collected thousands of prescription and sun glasses for donation to South King County organizations, helping families in need.”
