Councilmember Reagan Dunn joined Enumclaw Mayor Liz Reynolds and Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Hardebeck to sell the first tickets to the 151st King County Fair on Thursday.
“The King County Fair has been a mainstay in King County for generations,” said Councilmember Dunn. “The King County Fair not only provides great entertainment but also serves as a valuable outlet for local youth agricultural programs.”
The Gwerder family, including Jason and Anna Gwerder of Hy-Grass Farms in Auburn, were the first people to enter the fairgrounds.
The King County Fair is celebrating its 151st anniversary this summer and has been in operation since 1863. The Fair is fun for all ages and includes 4-H livestock shows and exhibits, live music, rides, fair foods and famous racing pigs among other attractions.
“County fairs are a nostalgic part of America we should never lose,” said Enumclaw Mayor Liz Reynolds. “The King County Fair has been a part of the Enumclaw community for over 150 years. Come out to Enumclaw, relax, and enjoy the day.”
