Summary
Story
Metropolitan King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer was reappointed to the Sound Transit Board of Directors. The new appointment runs for four years and began on January 1, 2014.“As a board member, I am committed to expand bus and commuter rail connections between the residents of South King County and job centers in Seattle and Tacoma,” said von Reichbauer. “Although there is still progress to be made, more and more Sound Transit projects are being completed early and under-budget. During my next four years, I look forward to not only improving the quality of service, but continuing the work to finally bring light rail to Federal Way.”
Sound Transit is a multi-billion dollar agency, governed by an 18-member board of directors, which includes the King, Pierce, and Snohomish county executives; three King County Councilmembers; the mayors of Seattle, Tacoma, Edmonds, and Sumner; city councilmembers from Seattle, Bellevue, Everett, Lakewood, and Issaquah; and the Washington State Secretary of Transportation. The board sets agency policies, gives direction to staff, and provides oversight on behalf of taxpayers.
