Dunn: Use “Every means available” to end human trafficking
Summary
Story
Metropolitan King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn spoke at today’s meeting of the U.S. House Subcommittee on Human Resources of the Committee on Ways and Means to highlight King County’s efforts to fight human trafficking. The Subcommittee, Chaired by Rep. Dave Reichert, met in Auburn to discuss efforts in Washington State to prevent and address child sex trafficking. After the hearing, Dunn released this statement:“Washington State has been recognized as a leader for our efforts to fight human trafficking. But we cannot rest on our laurels. Human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of our children are still occurring in our community.
“It was a privilege to participate in this hearing today and I thank Congressman Reichert for holding a congressional field hearing in Auburn to highlight and to develop additional tools to combat the vile crime of human trafficking. Only by using every means available to us will we be able to save future victims from these horrors.”
