New Korean Consul General, Young Song Introduced to Regional Policy Committee

“It was an honor to meet and welcome the Consul General to King County,” said King County Councilman Pete von Reichbauer, who chairs the Regional Policy Committee. “The Republic of Korea and King County are building a strong economic and cultural bond, which benefits the economy and citizens of both regions.”On Wednesday, May 11 King County formally welcomed the new Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Young Song, to the community.
A small reception was hosted by King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer, as he and other elected officials from King County gathered to welcome and honor the new Consul General. Pete von Reichbauer’s district, which encompasses most of south King County, has one of the largest numbers of Korean-Americans in King County.
Following the reception, the Consul General attended the Regional Policy Committee meeting, where he spoke about the fiscal and cultural impacts of Korean-Americans in the King County area.
As Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Young Song will assist and protect the citizens of the Republic of Korea, and he will facilitate trade and friendship between the people of the Republic of Korea and the United States.
