Story
RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, King County Metro Transit's Operator of the Year program was begun in 1978 to promote and recognize excellent driving performance and customer relation skills among Metro operators; and
WHEREAS, Metro Transit serves more than 1.7 million customers a year and aims to provide the best possible public transport services and improve regional mobility in King County; and
WHEREAS, Marvin White was selected by his peers as the 2009 Operator of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Marvin has been driving for Metro since 1979 and has earned a safe driving, accident-free record for 23 years; and
WHEREAS, Marvin is known as the “Superman” of Metro drivers: kind, courteous, skilled, and gifted with the ability to stay on schedule, even in I-405 traffic; and
WHEREAS, Marvin is beloved by his customers, knows many by name, and has received countless positive passenger comments over the years;
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Metropolitan King County Council, recognize, congratulate, and thank
MARVIN WHITE
for all he has done to enhance the service and standing of Metro Transit throughout King County. May his outstanding record serve as a model for all Metro Transit operators and his example inspire excellence among all county employees.
