Perry secures over $2.8 million in District 3 investments in 2026-27 county budget
November 18, 2025
King County Councilmember Sarah Perry joined her colleagues on Tuesday in approving a new two-year King County budget, a $20 billion plan that includes over $2.8 million in key investments for District 3.
“Alongside the county-wide investments we’ve made to shore up critical deficits in our court system and Sheriff’s Office, we secured important investments in our 2026-2027 budget to improve rural health care access in our district specifically, support our local food banks, maintain resources for our youth and seniors, and more,” Perry said. “These conscientious investments support and sustain the needs of our residents throughout our cities, towns, and unincorporated areas, ensuring all of our community members can thrive.”
As a member of the Budget Leadership Team, Perry succeeded in securing funding for a host of organizations in District 3, including the following:
Infrastructure Investments:
- $1 million to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital to support critical infrastructure and mobility options, increasing access to rural health care in District 3
Food Access & Agriculture:
- $500,000 to Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank
- $150,000 to First Light Farm
Safe & Healthy Communities:
- $300,000 to The Issaquah Teen Garage
- $100,000 to Reclaim (formerly Snoqualmie Valley Shelter)
- $100,000 to YMCA of Woodinville for affordable childcare
- $100,000 to YMCA of Snoqualmie Valley for health and wellness programs for youth
- $100,000 to Trail Youth Coffee for youth workforce development and health programs
- $50,000 to Pride Across the Bridge
- $50,000 to SnoValley Pride
- $40,000 to YMCA of Sammamish for disease prevention programs
- $11,500 to Seattle Mountain Rescue to support the purchase of a new rescue vehicle
Parks, Recreation & Open Space:
- $300,000 to Northshore Parks and Recreation Service Area for the design of new and renovated parks, recreation facilities, and senior centers
The budget also includes formal provisos to the Executive, requiring a report exploring more sustainable funding models for the county’s Permitting Division and a Cross Valley Connections report with recommendations for transit service from Carnation to Redmond light rail stations.
