Council appoints Victoria Hunt to 5th District Senate seat, Zach Hall to 5th District House seat

The King County Council on Tuesday appointed Victoria Hunt to fill the state Senate seat vacated by the late Sen. Bill Ramos.

Hunt was elected last year to the state House for the 5^th District, serving as Vice Chair for the Energy and Environment Committee and sitting on the Local Government and Transportation committees. She also works as the chief data officer for Crosswalk Labs.

Because of the vacancy created by her appointment, Council also interviewed candidates for her seat and from them chose Zach Hall to take over Hunt’s 5^th District House seat.

Hall was elected to a second term on the Issaquah City Council in 2023, where he has led efforts to expand funding for affordable housing, crisis response, homelessness outreach, climate action, and transportation infrastructure.
