Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As the King County Councilmember for District 9, I am proud to represent nearly a quarter of a million people, nine cities, and multiple unincorporated areas in Southeast King County. Our district is large and diverse, spanning high-rise buildings, farmland, and everything in between. My priority as your Councilmember is to champion the unique needs of our local communities as I work to keep King County a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Currently, I am proud to serve as Vice Chairman of the King County Council. In addition, I am Chair of the King County Flood Control District, a special purpose government separate from King County that invests in flood infrastructure designed to protect lives and property in flood-prone areas of the greater Seattle area.

I regularly send out updates to District 9 residents and encourage you to sign up for my e-newsletter. Please feel free to reach out to my office anytime with your questions, comments, or concerns.

I am proud to partner with the Emerald Parents Association, an organization that preserves and shares Chinese culture on the Eastside. I recently delivered a $7,500 Community Service Organization grant to support a Lunar New Year celebration at the Factoria Mall in January 2025. In addition, I was glad to provide the Emerald Parents Association with a $5,000 Youth and Amateur Sports grant for their annual Family Sports Meet, which brings families from across the Eastside together for a fun day of friendly track and field competition. Thanks to Emerald Parents Association leadership for meeting with me and sharing with me about your work!

I recently visited the Maple Valley Food Bank to present them with a check for a King County housing stability grant totaling $30,000. I am glad to support Maple Valley Food Bank, an exceptional organization that provides a grocery-style food bank, financial assistance, outreach and resource services, and school supplies for children and families in need.
