Public Health Permit Center: Now Live!

The Public Health Permit Center is an online service portal for permits, plan reviews, complaints and inquiries, formerly known as the Environmental Health Portal.

Register and login

Register as a new user and login to your account

Important: Create an account with the same email address you used for the old Environmental Health Portal to see your data (permits, plans) from the old system. This is not relevant if you didn't use the old portal.

If you have a King County email address, do not use that email account for registration.

Access the Public Health Permit Center

Services available in the Public Health Permit Center:

  • Food business permitting and plan review
  • Water recreation facility permitting and plan review
  • Pet business permitting and plan review
  • Solid waste facilities and solid/medical waste vehicle permits
  • Plumbing and gas piping permitting and plan review
  • On-site sewage system permitting and certification applications

  • Complaints and concerns for unsafe food handling, rodents, septic systems and other environmental conditions

How to use the Public Health Permit Center

Register for an account with the Public Health Permit Center.

If you had an account in the old system, make sure to create an account with the same email address in order to access your previous data. For step-by-step guidance with registration see Register for an account and get support (780 KB).

Before the Public Health Permit Center launch, we emailed everyone with existing permits and information in our previous portal to notify about the system change and indicate the email address we have on file for the account.

If you cannot find this email and are still having trouble, contact the Environmental Health Services Division to support with creating your account and linking it to your existing records.

You can find your permits and permit numbers in the Public Health Permit Center on the "My Work" page, under the "My Permits" tab.

On the "My Work" or "Dashboard" tab, you can view and select the permit or other application of interest. When you select the permit/ application/ inspection, the status will be listed in the summary section at the top.

Refund processes and availability differ based on program and permit type. Please call our office for assistance.

For plumbing permits, requests for permit cancellation and refund can go through the Public Health Permit Center. See the plumbing and gas application page for more information.

If you had information (existing permits, plans) in the Environmental Health Portal, we have transferred all of that data into the Public Health Permit Center. Note that you need to create an account with the same email address you used in the old system to access the data from the old Environmental Health Portal.

Login to the Public Health Permit Center. Select the “Apply” tab and search for “Change to Existing Facility.” Select this application type and indicate the type of request you are making.
