The Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center (WKCAC) is a world-class facility that includes a diving pool, Olympic-sized competition pool, and a warm water recreation pool. Opened in 1990, the WKCAC is a legacy venue of the 1990 Goodwill Games.

Since its opening the WKCAC hosts a variety of events including top national and international competitions. Most notably, the WKCAC hosted the 2000 and 2012 Olympic Diving Trials as well as the 2018 Special Olympic USA Games. It will host the 2025 NCAA DI Women and Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

WKCAC is a regional training center for competitive aquatic sports and is open to the public for lap swims, family swimming, water exercise, and swimming lessons.

Pool Improvements

The Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center (WKCAC) is more than 30 years old and has many systems that need replacement and upgrades. Improvements were made during the facility's annual end-of-summer closures in 2022 and 2023.

Learn more about the improvements in this blog post.

These projects lower maintenance costs, improve ADA accessibility, replace materials and systems that are at the end of their useful life with energy-efficient systems, and make it possible for the WKCAC to continue to attract the same quality of high-level competitions that the facility has hosted since it was built in 1990.

Funding for this project is made possible thanks to the 2020-2025 King County Parks Levy. Thank you for your support!
