Balducci calls for Council vote of no confidence in County Assessor Wilson, urging him to resign
June 3, 2025
Today, King County Councilmember Claudia Balducci will be walking on legislation stating that the Council has lost confidence in King County Assessor John Arthur Wilson to carry out the duties of his office and is calling for his immediate resignation. This legislation follows reports of a second restraining order issued against the Assessor for alleged stalking and harassment. Balducci released the following statement:
“Elected officials must be held to the highest standard, especially at a time when public trust in government accountability is fragile. As independently elected officials, the King County Council has a unique responsibility to uphold King County’s values and to ensure that we and our peer elected officials are holding each other to account on behalf of the public. That’s why I am encouraging my Council colleagues to join me in taking a vote of no-confidence in Assessor Wilson and calling for his immediate resignation.”
