UW Medicine CEO and Dean of UW’s School of Medicine speaks to south King County leaders
June’s “Good Eggs” breakfast on June 27, 2012, featured guest speaker Dr. Paul G. Ramsey, CEO of UW Medicine and Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and the Dean of the University of Washington’s School of Medicine. Dr. Ramsey gave a briefing on the recent mergers and partnerships of healthcare providers in the Puget Sound region. First Responders Day at Wild Waves Theme Park
On Wednesday, June 27, 2012, I attended First Responders Day at Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way, where first responders received free entry to the park and a free ride on the park’s new Soaring Eagle Zip Line. In attendance was Gina Miller, fiancée of recently fallen Washington State Trooper Tony Radulescu and other local first responders, to accept a special donation from the Wild Waves Theme Park for the Anthony Radulescu Memorial Fund. Autism Awareness Month in King County
On Monday April 9, 2012, the King County Council presented a proclamation declaring April 2012 to be Autism Awareness month in King County. This proclamation will lead a discussion about possible causes and effective treatments for those with autism. It is important to raise awareness about the effects of autism on individuals and their families while also increasing our efforts in treating this disorder.

Planning for Federal Way light rail moving forward
I was joined by State Sen. Tracey Eide and members of the Sound Transit Board Feb. 6 at an announcement on a proposal to establish a shovel-ready plan for extending light rail to Federal Way.
At the event, we spoke about a proposed amendment to the Sound Transit Board’s 2012 Budget that will move forward with conceptual design and environmental review not only for the South 272nd Street light rail extension regional voters approved in 2008, but all the way to the Federal Way Transit Center area.
