Tips for Success
Register and set up email preferences to get automatic email notifications of publicly advertised procurements.
Create opportunities and make your firm more competitive as a supplier for King County. Small businesses are highly encouraged to participate in the Small Contractors and Suppliers (SCS) certification program.
If you are invited by NAICS code to participate in a publicly advertised solicitation, you will get updates automatically when changes or addenda are issued.
If you were not invited, you can still view all advertised solicitations on the Solicitations Abstract webpage.
To access solicitations, you need to register in the E-Procurement Supplier Portal. Once registered, log in and click "View Active Solicitations" on the homepage to find the one you're interested in. To respond and see any updates, you need to select "Acknowledge Participation".
If you plan on submitting a bid or proposal for a solicitation, you are strongly encouraged to attend these meetings. The intent of the pre-bid or proposal conference is to help you better understand the requirements of the solicitation. You are encouraged to submit questions by email to the buyer in advance to help the County to prepare responses. Questions are also welcome during the pre-bid or proposal conference. You may not rely upon any oral statements or conversations at this meeting, but only on any addenda/clarification documents issued by the County.
King County's E-Procurement Portal does not accept late bids or proposals, and you cannot make any changes after the specified deadline. It’s your responsibility to make sure your bids or proposals are submitted electronically by the specified deadline. Be sure to allow enough time to complete the electronic submission before the closing date and time.
If your firm's proposal was not selected for a contract award, you can call or email the Buyer listed in the solicitation to ask for a debrief meeting. The debriefing will explain your overall ranking, highlight the strengths and weaknesses of your firm's proposal, and answer any questions about the selection process. The debriefing will not include comparisons with other proposals, discuss their strengths and weaknesses, share the ranking of other proposals, provide copies of the other proposals, or reveal trade secrets or proprietary information.
Living Wage Ordinance
Companies awarded a King County contract are required to pay their employees a living wage.
