Receiving Site Information

King County and its partner cities are working to achieve growth management and land conservation goals through a tool for interested landowners and developers: the Transfer of Development Rights. Information on using TDRs in unincorporated King County and in current TDR partner cities can be found using the King County TDR Partners Cities & Receiving Areas Map below.

Once development rights from sending sites become certified, the sending site is protected from future development, and the TDRs are available to use at receiving sites, which are parcels of land located where the existing services and infrastructure can accommodate additional growth - mostly in urban areas.
