Councilmember Dunn visits cities throughout Council District 9

Summary

Delivers 9 State of the County Addresses and attends 3 Community Service Area Meetings

Story

Metropolitan King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn has been actively traveling his district in 2013, meeting with constituents, speaking with community leaders and reporting about the challenges King County faces in the upcoming year.

“It is an exciting and challenging time to be serving on the King County Council,” said Dunn.  “We face many challenges in 2013 but these challenges provide us unique opportunities to rise up and solve these issues, making the County a better more secure place for our residents.”

Since the start of the New Year, Councilmember Dunn has travelled to nine cities within and surrounding District 9— Renton, Kent, Bellevue, Covington, Maple Valley, Newcastle, Issaquah Enumclaw, and Black Diamond—delivering his annual State of the County Address. The address is an opportunity for Dunn to update the respective City Councils on a number of topics including the County Budget and transit issues, and to answer questions from Councilmembers.

Dunn was also involved in the first meetings of the County’s Community Service Area (CSA) program, joining the County Executive’s office and several County agencies.

The new CSA Program supports the residents of King County that live in the unincorporated areas and promotes public engagement in these communities by expanding outreach and communication to a wide range of community organizations in unincorporated King County.

The meetings in Enumclaw, Maple Valley, and Four Creeks/Renton were an opportunity to discuss the new CSA format and hear from constituents.
