Community Partnerships and Grants
King County contributes the use of land, and as available, may provide a small grant or funding for the project. Community partners contribute the other necessary resources. Partners often take on an element of maintenance and programming of the facility through a long-term agreement with Parks.
ProjectsThe Community Partnerships and Grants Program has worked with over 90 organizations to date. Projects range from new recreation facilities to habitat restoration.

Proposal Process
Parks staff review Community Partnerships and Grants proposals on a rolling basis, year-round. Interested community-based organizations with a project proposal can submit a proposal for review.

Submit intake form
Include information about the project proposal and your organization.

Internal review
Parks staff will review the proposal to assess compatibility with the CPG program. Parks staff may reach out at this point to discuss the proposal in more detail (1-2 months). -
Invitation to apply
If a proposal is compatible with the CPG program, the proponent will advance to the next step and invited to submit an application. The application asks for more details, including a project plan, fundraising strategy, and documentation of 501c3 status. -
Internal review
Parks staff reviews application to assess feasibility of the project, potential for success, and alignment with Parks goals. Parks staff may reach out at this point with questions and feedback (1-3 months). -
Agreement development
If approved to move forward, a contract for the project will be developed. (2-3 months).
