Jail resident passes away at hospital during treatment for long-term illness

News release - July 22, 2026

A man in King County jail custody passed away shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 while hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The 42-year-old was transferred to the hospital from the King County Correctional Facility earlier this month for treatment for a serious, ongoing medical condition. The man had been in custody since June of this year on charges out of Seattle.
