King County District 2

With Councilmember Girmay Zahilay being elected as King County Executive, the Council’s District 2 seat is currently vacant.

The Executive must submit three nominees for a replacement to the Council. The full Council will appoint one person to serve until the end of the current term, December 31, 2026. The Council is scheduled to appoint a replacement at its December 9 meeting.

District 2 encompasses the University District, Laurelhurst, Ravenna, Eastlake, Capitol Hill, the Central District, South Seattle, Allentown, and Skyway.
