Bench Warrants

How to quash a warrant

If you are currently represented by an attorney

  • If a warrant has been issued for your arrest, contact your attorney.
  • For state cases, if you are represented by a public defender, refer to the King County Dept. of Public Defense (DPD) webpage for contact information.

If you are not currently represented by an attorney

  • You can contact the Court to find out if you are able to sign up for a bench warrant quash calendar. In some limited cases, you may be able to quash the warrant just by going to the clerk’s office at any King County District Court location.
  • If you want to set a hearing by going to the courthouse in person for a same day hearing, you must be at a District Court location no less than 2 hours before the scheduled daily bench warrant calendar to sign up.
  • To schedule a bench warrant quash hearing by phone, you must contact the Court the business day before you want to have the hearing.
