Surplus for county agencies

By King County Code, the Surplus Program is responsible for the disposal of all Personal Property for King County. The team ensures all items are reused whenever possible. Common items include desks, chairs, credenzas, file cabinets, bookcases, counter stools, tools, IT equipment, and office supplies. As agencies identify items no longer needed, they should be sent to Fleet Surplus using the KC Surplus Intake Form.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Although we can't accept the items listed above,  they should be disposed of properly through recycle or hazardous waste. Please Visit King County Solid Waste's recycling and waste prevention webpage for recycling options. If you have items you are unsure of, please complete the Surplus Intake Form. Be sure to note the condition of the item(s) on the form.

If your agency would like to transfer items to another county agency, Please reach out to KC.Surplus@kingcounty.gov.
