Judge Bardi D. Martin

Judge Bardi D. Martin was unanimously appointed to the King County District Court bench – West Electoral District – in 2026 by the King County Council. Judge Martin is committed to ensuring that every person appearing in court is treated with dignity, patience, and respect, and that justice is delivered fairly, equitably, and compassionately.

Prior to being appointed, Judge Martin served as a judge pro tempore for two years, presiding over more than 200 calendars at all eight King County District Court courthouse locations. During that time, Judge Martin presided over a broad range of civil and criminal calendars, including protection orders, infractions, impound hearings, name changes, and small claims trials and pre-trials; and criminal arraignment, pre-trial, motion, disposition, readiness, review, and in-custody calendars.

Judge Martin’s 18 years as an attorney in private practice include serving as a criminal defense attorney, criminal and civil appellate attorney, civil litigation attorney and public defender.

Judge Martin earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Seattle University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington.
