Be a part of our JumpStart network! Learn how to become a contractor host site with King County's JumpStart program.

JumpStart host site requirements

  • Have a role available that is suitable for a trainee that links to clean energy career pathways
  • Host 2 trainees per year
  • Trainee placements are for 240 hours (~6 weeks full time or 12 weeks part time)
  • When available, hire JumpStart trainees into entry level roles

Benefits to JumpStart host sites

By joining us as a host site, you get many benefits, such as: 

  • Training the next generation: Host a youth trainee for 240 hours (6 weeks full-time or 12 weeks part-time), while providing valuable work experience.
  • No extra cost: King County will cover payroll and liability insurance for the trainee, so being a host site won't cost your business anything.
  • Learn how you fit into the clean energy transition: Attend specialized workshops to learn about emerging government incentives for clean energy projects, including solar, HVAC, and electrical vehicle charging infrastructure.
